Mel is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Payment Networks Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (PayNet).

Mel, who started with PayNet in December 2021, is responsible for providing strategic direction, oversight, advisory and guidance for cybersecurity and data protection in PayNet. He leads a team with strategic focus on cyber risk management, information protection, data privacy, awareness, and governance and compliance.

In addition to being a CISO, Mel also leads the development of one of PayNet's strategic products and services.

Prior to PayNet Mel held senior positions in EY and KPMG focusing cybersecurity consulting services. He has delivered large cyber security transformation programmes, performed technical assessments, provided cyber response and incident management, conducted security remediations, and designed and developed cyber security strategy and data protection strategy for clients in multiple industry.

He has over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity and holds CISSP and CCSP certifications.
